Age limits for Southern Railway Health & Malaria Inspector, Nursing Superintendent , Lab Assistant Posts
Candidates applying must not exceed the upper age of 40 years as reckoned on 01-01-2019. Refer the official notification for post-wise age criterion.
Educational Qualifications for Southern Railway Health & Malaria Inspector, Nursing Superintendent, Lab Assistant Recruitment
Candidates applying for any of the above posts must possess the following qualifications:
- Nursing Superintendent: Certificate as registered Nurse having passed three years course in General nursing or B.Sc. Nursing.
- Health & Malaria Inspector:Sc. in Chemistry or one year diploma of Health Inspector.
- Haemo Dialysis Technician: Graduate + Diploma in Hemodialysis.
- Extension Educator: Graduation in Sociology/Social Work/Community Education disciplines with two year diploma in Health Education
- Radiographer: 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry and Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician.
- Pharmacist: 10+2 in Science or its equivalent with Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized institution.
- ECG Technician: 10+2/ Graduation in Science having Certificate /diploma/degree in ECG Laboratory Technology.
- Laboratory Assistant. Gr. II: 12th (10+2 stage) with Science, plus Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized University.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed on a proposed salary of Rs 21,700 to 44,900/- as per the post.
Other allowances/benefits worth Rs 15,000/- included as per the rules.

For General/OBC candidates, application fee is Rs 500/-
For SC/ST category candidates, Rs 250/-

Applicants who have successfully registered for any of the above Post within the stipulated date will be assessed on the basis of Written Exam followed by Medical Examination.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Written Examination will be in Online mode and the medium of Question paper will be in Hindi, English, Tamil and Malayalam. Written Exam will consist of 50 Objective Questions, each question carrying one mark. Duration of Exam is 45 minutes. Syllabus concerned will be as per the required qualification for each post.
Probationary period
Candidates selected for Para-Medical Staff Jobs will serve the Railways for a period of one year upto 30/06/2019.
